George Inness: Paintings


This beautifully illustrated catalogue of the 2005 exhibition at the Thomas Cole Historic Site includes three essays about the artist George Inness (1825-1894): one by Glyn Vicent, the author whose biography of Inness “The Unknown Night” was published in 2003; one by Adrienne Baxter Bell whose exhibition “George Inness and the Visionary Landscape” was presented at the National Academy of Design in 2003; and Elizabeth Stephens, the curator of the exhibition at the Thomas Cole Historic Site.
