Published to accompany the 2011 exhibition at the Thomas Cole Historic Site, featuring the 19th-century landscape paintings of the first African-American artist to achieve international renown, this catalogue includes an essay by the curator and full-color illustrations of all of the artworks in the exhibition plus twelve additional images, including important artworks by the artist that have only recently been discovered.
