ANNA PLESSET (b. 1977) is a New York-based interdisciplinary artist who uses painting, drawing, and sculpture to examine how history, memory, and knowledge are mediated. She received her BFA from Cornell University and an MFA from the Rhode Island School of Design. Plesset’s work has been featured in exhibitions in New York City at Yossi Milo Gallery, Jack Barrett, Marlborough Chelsea, Shirley Fiterman Art Center, and JDJ; and at PATRON Gallery, Chicago, IL, Hunter Harrison, London, UK, and Kenderdine Art Gallery, University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Canada. Plesset has received awards and fellowships including The Lower East Side Printshop Keyholder Residency; Joan Mitchell Emerging Artist Grant; Abrons AIRspace Residency; and the Terra Summer Residency and Fellowship, Giverny, France. Her work has been written about and reviewed in publications including The New York Times, Artforum, Hyperallergic, Frieze, ARTnews, Cultured, Bomb Magazine, Modern Painters, and The Brooklyn Rail. Plesset is represented by PATRON Gallery in Chicago, Illinois.
