Located in the Village of Catskill in the Hudson Valley and steeped in history, the Thomas Cole National Historic Site is a distinctive locale for your special celebration, including weddings, adult and children’s birthdays, baby and bridal showers, anniversaries, corporate gatherings, and more.
We offer an array of entertaining possibilities on campus, including verdant ceremonies on the Main Lawn amidst 19th-century gardens, cocktails on the bluestone Forecourt with sunset views, a seated dinner in the new Cole Center building by an AD100 designer, or an intimate rehearsal dinner in the rustically-charming Storehouse.
The site is located 5 minutes from Catskill’s historic Main Street lined with unique shops, galleries, and restaurants and only 10 minutes from the Hudson Amtrak Station.

The Main Lawn
Dotted with perennial gardens, the Main Lawn offers a verdant setting for seated ceremonies and dinner tents for up to 125 guests. An un-tented outdoor event can host up to 300. The Main Lawn is also the perfect setting for an elegant garden party for bridal or baby showers.
The Storehouse
The Storehouse Studio offers a magical setting for elegant rustic dinner parties or cocktails for up to 80 guests in the same building where the artist painted storied American landscapes. The building also makes for a charming private Bridal Suite or a fun creative maker space for children’s birthday parties.
The Main House Porch
The vista from the Main House porch offers sublime views of the Catskill Mountains for stunning photography.
The Cole Center & Forecourt
The Cole Center interior offers a chic setting for elegant dinners and/or cocktails for up to 80 guests with towering windows opening onto the bluestone Forecourt, which features sunset views looking west towards the Catskill Mountains.
Location Rentals
The Thomas Cole Site provides a unique location for editorial and commercial film and still photography shoots.
